Good Morning, I have an account with Wells Fargo, the account is a private label credit card (Empire today). I made a payment on line dated for 07/07/2017 and it posted on the correct date. This is the problem.two payments posted and this is causing my checking account to be overdrawn. I called in today to the customer service line and spoke to a representative that said she could put in a request to have the payment returned to me but it would take 10-15 business days. I advised that I needed to speak to a supervisor because I could not wait that long. I needed the funds back asap to avoid over draft fees. She said ok but the supervisor would say the same thing. She transferred the call and someone named Maria came on the line. She refused her last name but said that her employee number is 1150. She was very rude and her only goal was to argue with me about the payment and not to add anything to the customer experience or try to help me. She too said that I would have to wait 10-15 days for a refund because Wells Fargo had to make sure that they received their money. I advised that I could send in something from my bank showing that they had received two payments. I asked again for her boss. She transferred the call and someone named Stephanie that identified herself as a MANAGER. She refused to give her last name and said that her employee number is 5503. She said that same thing. I asked her if there was anyone there interested in customer service and actually helping customers and not arguing with them. She said that they would make a request to have the funds returned but it would take 10-15 business days. I advised that did not make sense. They drafted two payments in one day but it would take 3 weeks to get it back.I advised that the second payment drafted has already caused my account to overdraft and my outstanding bills were going to bounce and cause me fees that I could not afford. She basically said too bad. I asked for her boss and she said that there was not anyone else to take the call. I asked how to contact her boss and she said that I could not and they do not make out going calls to anyone. I advised her that I would find a way to file a complaint. I need my funds back asap into my account.

TERRIBLE customer service. Their tellers and customer service personnel are truly useless. In addition, I believe there are unprofessional and nefarious practices happening. For example on their "bill pay" they remove the funds from your account regardless of whether or not the recipient cashes the check. So you the account holder think your bills are paid because the money is removed from you account and basically put into a Wells Fargo account until the recipient cashes the check. ! if they never cash check. So essentially they keep your money for a period of 90 days and do whatever with it. Its ridiculous and terrible practice. Call customer support they could care less, if they even understand the complaint, that Wells Fargo is removing money from accounts without the recipient cashing the check. Its shameful and wrong!!!!! So bummed I've wasted 10 years being a loyal customer!

Wells Fargo - Checking Account Review

I no long received direct deposits coming into my checking and didn't want to have Wells Fargo take out fees so thinking that I would save money, I closed my checking opened a savings account. Never did I think that by taking out my own money I would be charged a excessive fee at $15 a pop. So of course I completelty closed my Wells Fargo account. I advise people to rethink ever having a Wells Fargo bank account. They will always make money off of people who are not informed about their funds.
