I was entered this branch on 09/28/2018 to make a check deposit an account. We have a small business account with Wells Fargo.
The check from another company (chase bank) and was post dated for 10/1/2018. Teller denied deposit and said they don't allow post dated check to be deposited to an account. I went back to the check issuer and requested for a date correction on the check. The authorized signatory crossed out the date , wrote a new date and signed the correction.
Went back to the branch again to deposit. They denied the deposit. I requested to see the branch manager. Manager came after 10mnts and he repeated the same.
They did not accept the check. I feel I pissed off because of the ego/attitude issues with the staff.
There is no banking rule deny a check for correction on the check with an authorized signature next to the correction or a post dated check. Signature verification is done by the clearing bank not by a third party banking teller.
These days we can even deposit a check thru a mobile app. I have the names of the staff available if anyone interested.
