We have been with Wells Fargo for 30+ years and luckily we have never had an issue with them....until now. They closed their branch in our small town - reason being the foot traffic has slowed way down due to online banking.
Now they are selling 52 of their branches in Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin ---- meaning there will be NO Wells Fargo branches in Indiana or Michigan. The WF banking customers in those affected states are being forced to go to Flagstar Bank. I called customer service to confirm this and the rep knew nothing about it - interesting it was all over the news! I was transferred to a manager who did confirm it being effective in October.
We are very upset because WF being a national bank we could always find a location while traveling if we had an issue and needed to visit a branch. I informed the customer service manager that we WILL be closing and transferring ALL of our accounts even though the sell does not affect the credit cards, auto loans, mortgage loans or brokerage accounts. If WF does not want our cash deposit accounts then they don't need my other accounts and money! The rep had said "we hate to see you leave" lol - are you freaking serious!!!!!
We are not choosing to leave! Ya'll are giving US the boot. Why? Because you have bad managers putting pressure on front-line tellers to open accounts when customers don't want them so the employees get their sales quotas met and added perks.
So WF is pentalized by the Feds and can't make X amount of money - so they are selling branches.....BUT THEY ARE STILL OPENING NEW BRANCHES IN HIGH POPULATED AREAS LIKE CALIFORNIA AND NYC …… totally don't make sense. Shame on you Wells Fargo!!!!!
