Wells Fargo - Theft or Incompetent (I'm not sure which is worse)

We read about all these terrible things for which Wells Fargo is being fined, and we just don't think about it if we don't bank with them. Then you realize that retirement account you inherited from your parents was with Wells Fargo. You decide to close the retirement account because you don't want to remember to withdrawal the minimum distribution each year. That's where the fun begins, and three months later you still don't have the proceeds from that account. I was naive to think that such a large corporation would not engage in outright theft. After numerous forms changing hands and several phone calls, you realize they kept the liquidated assets from that account in a cash account instead of transferring it. They never bothered to call or email and tell you why they disregarded your written request. Then you call and they keep telling you they sent a check without ever confirming this via email or on the website as they said they would. After three months I am waiting for the check, they drained the cash account and have provided no documentation that this is being sent to me. Today they told me that documentation would be available later today. Taco Bell's on-line app provides updates faster and more accurately than that. As such, I am more likely to invest with Taco Bell than Wells Fargo in the future.

Terrible Customer Service

Trying to get a copy of account history email to me tell me it was take only 2 days. 4 days later I call back and they said it would take another 2 days 3 days later I call back and was told it cannot be completed nobody notified me of this problem or try to contact me. On my 3rd attempt I got connected to the executive office to only be Pacified by saying they would handle the problem and they did not handle it at all in the time that they said they would. I asked to speak to the executive office supervisor who just happened to leave early that day for memorial weekend so nobody was left in charge to handle situations totally unacceptable would not recommend Wells Fargo to any body. Still waiting for the paperwork I requested going on 2 weeks.

Cash deposit

I went into Wells Fargo today to make a cash deposit for $30.00 to my niece account. I was told they couldn't take cash on someone else account even though I had their account.

I spent over an hour at the bank I said everything to no avail they wouldn't budge Their reason for this policy

because of dirty money and banks loosing money. I used this bank all the time and also have account with them and they know be by name.

I reminded them of everything they have done in the last years, and they worry about $30.00 The lady at the bank did send a complaint for me I want this out on web so people can read this. I am moving my accounts to another bank.

Account got closed cause i had checks come in and leave my account. The fools called and verified it was valid but still closed my account. you all should close down the thing you call a bank. You all a *** scammer. I hate wells and always will now i am so late on bills. have no time to make payment cause i work morning to night. Opened this dumm account so i could setup auto pay. now i gotta run around with cash. foolzzzzz ##Account got closed cause i had checks come in and leave my account. Called for credit card issues

Called to ask to waive an interest fee due to circumstances with the town's post office on not receiving my bill. Never been late paying any of my wells fargo credit cards.

owed on $300 and they were charging me interest of $546. I figured since i am a long standing client of wells fargo and have never asked for anything from them in the +30 years they would help.

Not only would they not even think about helping but now they are losing my whole families business, we are pulling everything out and going to TD Bank, i have heard nothing but great things about them and how they care about their customers. I have never dealt with a bank like that before.

Ripped off with Wells Fargo Outdoor Solutions

We opened the account to get a wooden fence put up. They told us out payments would be about 108.00 a month till the loan balance was paid.

Part was our fault by not checking each statement carefully. We paid the 108 faithfully until I looked at the statement and it said we paid 53.13 in interest. I called them to see what happened. They said we had already paid 1331.00 in interest dating back 8 months.

The amount never changed so that is why I continued paying the same amount as usual. The interest went up to 28.99%. Needless to say all they said is I should have read my statement better. I paid off the account and they will not get one more penny of interest from me.

Lesson learned. I asked them why the amount never changed and they said it was their discretion what the minimum was. So I asked if I was down to $225.00 owed the minimum would still be 107.00?

He had no answer for that. So please beware of what you are signing.

I was in the same predicament. Balance never go down so I paid it off and will never get ripped by another predatory lender.

I heard the commercial. I am confused by the commercial of a former NFL player and currently a "Sports Broadcaster." Please inform me about how I can obtain the assistants of of Wells Fargo help in making my bed tomorrow and every day from now on.

The commercial is nonsensical.

better yet... it is a cheap ripoff of a speech given by a Navy Seal Commander that is up on youtube… as well as "Gold On The Ceiling" is most likely not the best music for a company that stole moneys and misusing accounts.

Defective Online Banking

After logging in to my Online Accout a few times, I am locked out. The only way to recover my access is to change my password and that's a very annoying recurrance. Even after that, I still am prevented from accessing my account after a few log ins, but then my account is suspended, so I must go through the ritual of arguing with a banker, until I can chat with an online agent. Having to do this over and over, with no remedy in sight, it may be best for me to close my WellsFargo accounts and find a bank or credit union that cares about its customers.

Just to piggyback on my last gripe, filing a complaint with the Attorney General office and contacting our local politicians worked. We kept our house!

I'm hoping more folks know that these banks and mortgage companies are doing illegal things It's worth looking into.

Us "little people " just need to know that there are resources/and or action you can take. Best to all of you!

I have filed at my Attorney Generals office as well. I totally agree these banks and mortgage companies are doing the most.

Some just walk away as if there is no hope. I am going to fight until the end.

I don't bank there, but my husband does. I belong to credit unions. My husband was TOTALLY screwed byWells fargo . I plan on filing a complaint with the Attorney General office.

Banks SUCK! I filed a complaint with the Attorney General office in 2009 regarding GMAC mortgage and there "modified mortgage " practices.

I also complained to my Congress man and 2 State Senators. Credit unions are the way to go in my opinion.

Dealing with fraud in Wells Fargo

I had well over $200k stolen out of my accounts for years , kept reporting it and the credits were not 99% of the time put back . I called , mailed copies of obvious forged checks , shown bankers statements with huge withdrawals I did not make and was given the run around by the fraud Dept .

I had years of credit card fraud and a horrendous amount of identity theft go on as well and slander . It’s Bogus !!! Each account is insured to $250k and I should be getting back that amount as I had several being stolen from for years , mortgages not valid and withdrawals to pay loans I did not open as well taken out . Ethical ?

Honest ??

No matter how long past a statement , depending on a person having an illness or not able to deal with all the overload , theft is theft and it’s illegal . Step up Wells Fargo !

There was a huge 2 page article in the news paper a year or so ago stating some of their own employees were stealing from accounts / opening loans / setting up mortgages to make goals .. and that they were going to go back and correct these for the customer ( compensate ) I have sent in 90 pages alone of what I had theft in my accounts ( there are more ) and most everyone I’ve shown including some bankers have said it’s OBVIOUS theft & fraud . Each account is insured so they should always just credit it back and get on to the next one, not hope the customer gets tired of it and blows it off .

No wonder, wellsfargo is a loser and scammer. How many times do they have to be sued?

Now, even the Navaho tribe has sued, for preditory policies. And if they aren't the ones doing it, they cant or won't protect they're own customers against identity theft.

I have 2 accts. with them, but plan on switching to a more honest bank.

DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT WITH WELLS FARGO

On April 26 I did an online deposit with my payroll check. I received an error message that there maybe a hold but if not my funds would be available on April 27.

I call Wells Fargo customer service and was assured that this was a "soft hold" because it was my first initial deposit to a new account and my funds would be available on April 27. The morning of April 27 I check my account and still there was a zero balance. I call Wells Fargo and the automated service said a " hard hold" was placed on my deposit and my funds would not be available now until May 8th. So for 12 days they are holding my funds hostage and they can't cancel it nor close my account.

I have never heard of anything like this in my life... So my funds will be in my hand May 8th and this account will be closed the same day...

I went to Wells Fargo in Carson City, NV to deposit rent into my landlord's account. The bank teller would not accept cash for the deposit, she told me they require a money order or cashier's check now. She said it's to prevent money laundering. Seriously? What kind of bank doesn't accept U.S. currency? This is unacceptable.

Unexplainable Overdraft Fees

My husbands account recently has been charged overdraft fees and he isn't even in the red, nor has he been. How low is this bank going to stoop? Credit Unions are now everyones best bet from getting ripped off from these thieving banks. Beware. Go with a credit union before you start getting robbed of your hard earned money. None of these banks are loyal.
